Schools Public Speaking Competition

The annual Schools Public Speaking Competition, sponsored by Province 7 of the Catenian Association, was held at Bishop Thomas Grant School, Streatham, on 10 October 2018.  Twelve speakers, took part, representing six schools, speaking on a variety of topics.  

The schools taking part were:

Bishop Thomas Grant, Streatham

Coloma Convent Girls', Croydon

Sacred Heart, Southwark 

St Gregory's, Tunbridge Wells

St Simon Stock, Maidstone

St Thomas the Apostle, Nunhead

All the participants spoke to a very high standard indeed and all are to be congratulated.  The eventual winner was Anitta Biju from St Gregory's in Tunbridge Wells, who spoke about "Fuming NIghtmare".  Anitta will go forward to take part in the National Final in Manchester.

Grateful thanks are due to the Headmistress and staff of Bishop Thomas Grant School for their hard work and generosity in hosting the event.

 

Next year's event will be held in October 2019 at St Gregory's School in Tunbridge Wells.
